Man arrested in GI airport standoff attempts standoff with judge

May 6, 2021 | 7:14 AM

(KGFW) – A Phillips man arrested in a Tuesday standoff at the Grand Island airport attempted another standoff Wednesday — with a Hall County Judge.

NTV News reports Tyler Caudill first said he would not speak, then proceeded to speak over Judge Al Corey. Caudill accused the Judge of being disrespectful.

The prosecution said the 19-year-old told police he had access to $20 million and was planning to fly to Montana.

An AR-15 style rifle and box of ammunitions were recovered Tuesday.

Officials said that a day earlier, Caudill tried to gain unauthorized access to Kearney High School to see a student.

Caudill is charged with attempted theft of an airplane and use of a weapon.

His bond set at 10% of $250,000.
