STORY 1:  A Teenager Built an Underground Cave to Get Away from His Parents

Imagine telling your teenager to stop being lazy and show some initiative, and they counter with THIS . . .

A 14-year-old kid in Spain got into a fight with his parents and wanted a place to get away.  So he went to the backyard . . . and started digging an UNDERGROUND CAVE to hang out in.

The initial fight happened in 2015, so he’s 20 now.  But he just shared pictures of it online after working on it for six years.

He started with a pickaxe, and it was just a hole at first.  Then he found someone with better tools to make it 10 feet deep and add multiple rooms.

It’s got a living room . . . bedroom . . . heating system . . . music system . . . and Wi-Fi.  And he reinforced the walls with concrete to make sure it won’t collapse.  But somehow, he’s spent a grand total of $60 on it.

He says it floods sometimes.  And there are a LOT of bugs down there, but he doesn’t mind.  It sounds like his parents have actually been pretty supportive about it.

His mother did manage to slip one judgmental comment in though.  When she climbed down to see it in person the first time . . . she told him it was smaller than she expected.

STORY 2:  Does This Faceless Cat Pillow Sound Comforting or Creepy?

Say what you will about this product.  But unlike an ACTUAL cat, it can’t stare you down from across the room while it knocks your glass of water off the table.

A company in Japan is selling a cat-shaped comfort pillow that purrs when you pet it.  But some people think it’s creepy . . . because it doesn’t have a FACE.  Instead, it looks like it’s always sleeping with its head pointed down.

It’s called the MeowEver pillow.  In addition to purring, there’s a rumble pack inside that’s simulates breathing, and it’s got a fake heartbeat.  Plus, there’s a gel insert you can heat up, so it radiates warmth.  You can preorder one for $80, and they start shipping in July.

STORY 3:  Cicada Tacos Are Now on the Menu at a Restaurant in Virginia

Earlier this month, a poll found 1 in 4 Americans would try cicadas as a FOOD.  And now at least one restaurant has already added it to their menu.

A Mexican place in Leesburg, Virginia called Cocina on Market is serving CICADA TACOS for a limited time.  The owner says they were already serving grasshopper tacos, so adding cicadas wasn’t a huge leap.  And they’re already a hit.

They don’t just toss them in taco a shell though.  First, they boil them, bake them, and pluck their legs and wings off.  Then they sauté them in garlic, and top them with serrano chilis, avocado, and radishes in a verde sauce.

  2. Michael Keaton’s real name is Michael Douglas. He picked “Keaton” as a stage name because obviously there was ALREADY an actor named Michael Douglas . . . and he liked the way Diane Keaton’s name sounded.

  3. The famous artist Caravaggio is actually FROM the city of Caravaggio, Italy. He chose to use that as his name because his first name was . . . Michelangelo.  And clearly, another artist already had that one claimed.
