A Hastings man is headed to prison for over 30 years in connection with a crash that killed two teenagers last year.

33-year-old Anthony Pingel was sentenced yesterday to a maximum of 42 years in prison for Manslaughter, third-degree assault, and DUI.

The charges stem from a crash east of Hastings that killed two teens, 16-year-old Victoria Fleming and 18-year-old Tristen Owens. On December 12th, Pingel was traveling north on Blaine, when it collided with the other vehicle carrying the two victims.

When officers responded to the scene, they found two passengers in the vehicle that was hit deceased. Pingel was under the influence at the time of the crash.
