KEARNEY – It was a good day to be from Kearney at the Awarii Dune Invite on Thursday.
The Kearney High Bearcats boys golf team earned the Awarii Dunes invite title, shooting a four player total of 296, keeping paced ahead of Kearney Catholic (305). North Platte ended in third overall (318).
The Bearcats’ Dylan Dahlstedt (70) earned the individual top spot, followed by teammates Perry Swarm (72) in second and Koji Kitabutake (72) in third.
Kearney Catholic was led by Jack Dunham (74) ending in seventh overall, while Landon Edeal (76) was eighth, Quinten Hogeland was tenth (77), and Tate Redinger ended in eleventh (78).
Both teams move to their district meets beginning next week. The Bearcats host the A-2 District invite at Meadowlark Hills on Monday. Kearney Catholic heads west to the panhandle, traveling to Kimball for the C-5 District meet Monday.
