LEXINGTON — A longtime police sergeant has been promoted to the position of captain in the Lexington Police Department.
Phil Lauby started his law enforcement career with the Lexington Police Department (LPD) in 1992 and has served his entire tenure in the community. Lauby and his wife, Lorinda Lauby, are both Lexington natives.
On Monday, Oct. 30, Chief Paul Schwarz pinned the captain’s badge and brass collar on Lauby, who was officially appointed to the new role by City Manager Joe Pepplitsch on Oct. 27.
Chief Schwarz said of Lauby’s promotion, “Couldn’t be happier and more proud. He is definitely the right choice; he has the experience and every bit of that has been with the Lexington Police Department.”
