 
					Hastings College Women's Wrestling // HC Broncos Athletics
HASTINGS – The Hastings College women’s wrestling team dominated its match against Dakota Wesleyan in its first dual of the 2023-24 season before falling to Southeast Community College.
Bemnet Tesfa opened up the scoring with a win via forfeit.
Then Adacelli Salaiz-Noriega dominated her match at 116 before pinning Ashden Welty at the 1:27 mark of the first period. The lead then grew to 15-0 when Larissa Kaz picked up a win via forfeit.
Then Lauren Henderhan made quick work of Isabelle Camarill at 130 by pinning her just :48 into the match. Then Reagen Gallaway picked up a quick tech fall victory by defeating Mady Sargent 12-0 just over a minute into that match. At this point Hastings led 24-4 over the Tigers.
Up next at 155, Tabitha Wood worked into the second round but dominated the scoreboard until she got Ali Bissell on her back pinning her at the 4:06 mark. Marissa Patterson finished up the scoring at 191 by throwing Kaitlin Gay on her back and pinning her just :15 into the match.
Hastings went on to defeat the Tigers 34-9.
HC then took on Southeast Community College and started with a bang. Adacelli Salaiz-Noriega quickly got Hasley Salgado on her back and pinned her just :32 into their 116 lb. match.
Larissa Kaz followed suit at 123 by getting an early lead on McKenna Kisela before working her to her back and picking up the pin at the :33 mark.
At 155, Tabitha Wood worked hard to build an early lead and then got Angela Velasquez on her back pinning her at the 1:48 mark as Southeast CC and Hastings were tied 15-15 at this point.
Marissa Patterson made it look easy at 191 rolling Kennedy Karschner on to her back four times after earning the take down to win the match via tech fall 10-0. Hastings trailed 20-19 at this point
Hastings then had to forfeit at 101 to go down 25-19. HC ended up losing the match 30-19.
Hastings will be back in action Nov. 10 hitting the road to take on Life and Montreat down in Marietta, GA.
