KEARNEY – The Kearney Catholic Stars girls and boys basketball programs have been placed in the C1-10 Sub-District, competing with three other area teams for postseason action in February.
The Nebraska Schools Activities Association released the 2023-24 Boys and Girls Basketball sub-district assignments for Class B, C1, C2, D1, and D2 earlier today. The full list of area teams assignments can be found here.
Kearney Catholic will pair with Broken Bow, Minden, and Holdrege for the girls sub-district, while the boys garner Gibbon, Holdrege, and Minden.
Host sites are earned by the top powerpoint rated team in each sub-district.
The Stars girls went 12-12 last season, ending with a loss to Broken Bow in the C1-11 Sub-District first round. The Kearney Catholic boys ended 10-15 in their 2022-23 season, making a late run in the C1-9 Sub-District eventually falling to Adams Central in the championship game at Wood River High School.
