KEARNEY — The Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated reopening on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Following an extensive expansion, restoration, and renovation, MONA will unveil its revitalized historic building and a brand-new 23,000-square-foot expansion, marking a new chapter for Nebraska’s art and cultural community.

The reimagined museum will showcase dynamic exhibitions featuring works from MONA’s esteemed permanent collection alongside powerful creations by contemporary artists.

As the only museum in the state solely dedicated to championing the art and artists of Nebraska, MONA has redefined its visitor experience with new exhibition spaces, enlarged areas for public programming, enhanced amenities, and improved accessibility—all located at its historic home at 2401 Central Avenue, downtown Kearney, NE.

Opening Weekend Celebration

To commemorate this milestone, MONA invites the community to a day of free festivities on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Guests of all ages will enjoy:
• Hands-on art-making activities
• Interactive experiences
• Live performances by local artists and musicians

This grand reopening promises to honor MONA’s legacy while offering an inspiring glimpse into its future as a hub for creativity and community connection.
