All National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from this group of around 15,000 Finalists. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Being named a finalist is an honor that places Jackson among the brightest young minds in the country.
