KEARNEY – Creston M. Myers, O.D., has been selected as the 2025 Dr. Donald E. Fox Distinguished Chemistry Alumnus. Myers will give his lecture on Friday, Oct. 10, at 2:30 p.m. in Copeland Hall, Room 131. The lecture is open to the public.
He will be honored at the 45th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards luncheon on Friday, Oct. 10, at 11:30 a.m. in the Gala Room in the Regional Engagement Center, 2204 University Drive, Kearney. Tickets are $30 per person ($35 starting Sept. 27), $15 for children ages 12 and under, and can be purchased until Oct. 1 at unkalumni.org/homecoming or by calling the UNK Alumni Association at 308-698-5271.

Creston M. Myers, O.D. (1999)
Creston Myers, O.D., of Alliance, Nebraska, began his optometry career in 2003 after earning his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry. He worked as an independent optometrist with Walmart in Storm Lake, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, for three years before joining a private practice in Alliance in 2006. In 2012, he purchased an existing practice and now serves as the owner and primary doctor at Family Vision Clinic.
Myers has served on the Nebraska Optometric Association Board of Directors and is a member of the Nebraska Optometric Association. He is currently chair of the Nebraska Health and Human Services Board of Optometry. He was recognized as the 2011 Nebraska Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year.
An Oshkosh, Nebraska, native and Garden County High School graduate, Myers earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a minor in biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1999.
